About Us

 Internets Future was started in early 1999, to help other people around the world with their computer education. At that time most of the people we knew in our local area didn't even have a home computer and most who did, weren't online yet.  Many of the web building tools I linked to back then are still on our links page as of July 2008. The first version of this site linked mostly to information about web building, featuring sites with easy to use web templates, built-in FTP programs and easy to understand step by step beginner instructions, much like the site "MySpace" is today.  The biggest difference being this... The companies I worked with marketed their online education at a reasonable annual cost, gave you web space to use what you had learned and kept your personal information private.  Where as Myspace has gotten rich by giving you the web space and enough education to build a site for "Free", but they sell all of your personal information to other companies to turn a huge profit.

A word of caution:  This paragraph has nothing to do with Internets Future, but it's something I feel everyone with a Myspace account should know since identity thief is at an all time high.  Myspace was sold 4 years after starting from nothing for 470 million dollars, deemed by the new owner to be a solid investment because of the revenue Myspace was and still is generating by selling your personal information.  And I'm in no way trying to single out Myspace since countless online companies are walking the same path.  Just read the fine print in the privacy policies of Yahoo Search, E-Bay, PayPal etc.. just to name a few.

One of the first things we added to this website was a weather webcam, added for public safety to help you our viewers in tracking our up to the minute weather on those bad winter days. Hence the addition of the name nnycam.com.

 We are located just off the edge of the Tug Hill Plateau in Northern NY State where lake effect  snow bands from lake Ontario can be deadly if you aren't prepared for them so seeing the need, we started 2 of the first live weather webcams with-in a 30 mile radius of our home and business.  A year or so later as more local weather cams came online, I built our live webcams page to share other local weather cams with our viewers as a public service and in the name of public safety.  Our webcams page is part of our Northern-NYS.com website, another site owned and operated by Internets Future.

 I've changed Internets Future's look and content several times over the years, as it has always been a playground setup to educate, inspire, enlighten and hopefully in some way help others.  Currently much of this site is recreational, with local pictures of the four seasons, inspirational sayings, etc.. because in breaking down the content from this site to turn it into 3 separate sites a few years after it was formed, I tried to make Internets Future a place where people who need to chill out, take a break from their everyday lives and enjoy life via their computers for awhile could go without being bothered with news, flashy banners, pop-up ads etc.. that add stress rather then giving you a break from it.

In 2008, I added ncfuture.com as a main domain name to this site as well.  There are both up and down sides to naming a website the way I've designed this one, but in the end I hope my strange ways will help inspire and enlighten others.

More big changes to this site are planned for 2008, so be sure and stop back soon.

You may notice that this site doesn't look like most traditional business websites. That was our goal ! We want to help people learn, that anyone that wants to, can build a website.
All of the people we work with have colorful personalities, not black and white. So, colorful and non traditional, is how we chose to build this site.
